The Trainer

Ray Cuevas is a Division I basketball player from Ipswich, Massachusetts. At Pingree School, he was a two-time League MVP, a two-time NEPSAC All-Star, and made both the Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic teams. He spent two seasons at Bowdoin College, winning NESCAC Rookie of the Year his freshman year, before transferring to Brown University.

He trains young players because he remembers what it took to get here. Not highlights. Not handles videos. The real work: footwork in the paint, reading a defense before it collapses, finishing through contact when you’re tired. That’s what Ray teaches.

The Work

What we train

Guard Skill Development
Ball handling, shot creation off the bounce, finishing packages for guards. Ray plays your position. He knows what it actually requires.
Shooting Mechanics
Form first, always. Ray is a proven shooter at the college level. He doesn’t just teach the shot, he’s made the shot under pressure.
Footwork
The foundation of every move Ray runs at the college level. Players learn to move with purpose before they learn any specific skill.
Basketball IQ
Reading the defense, making decisions under pressure, knowing when to push and when to pull. This gets trained the same way shooting does.
Finishing at the Rim
Contact, angles, floaters, off-hand. Going to the rim against size. Ray trained for this at the D1 level every day.
Competitive Mindset
Ray’s played in NEPSAC, AAU nationally, and the NESCAC. He trains you for game speed, not drill speed.

The Process

How it works

01
Reach Out
DM Ray on Instagram or fill out the form below. Tell him your player’s age, position, and what you want to improve. He gets back fast.
02
First Session
Every player starts with a one-on-one evaluation. Ray watches you play, identifies what’s missing, and builds the training plan from there.
03
Build Your Game
Sessions run one-on-one or in small groups. You set the schedule. Ray sets the standard.
